Study Engineering at NZSE
Interested in designing, building, and maintaining the electrical systems that power our world? Engineering at NZSE equips learners with the applied electrical engineering skills aligned with Aotearoa New Zealand’s infrastructure, technology, and renewable energy needs.
At NZSE, our engineering study options develop job-ready engineering technicians with the skills to work on complex electrical and control systems across a range of industries. Accredited under the Dublin Accord, graduates gain internationally-recognised engineering technician qualifications — opening doors to opportunities in New Zealand and beyond.
Learning at NZSE is hands-on and practice-led from day one, allowing our students to gain confidence in solving engineering challenges in workplace settings. Through real-world projects and applied training, learners build the technical capability to design, develop, test, and maintain electronic circuitry and equipment used across modern industries.
Graduates are well prepared for roles across sectors including telecommunications, manufacturing, automation, renewable energy, and electronics, or to continue their studies and further specialise as their careers progress.

NZSE College is proud to be endorsed by the Royal New Zealand Navy for the NZ Diploma in Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (Level 6)
New Zealand Skills and Education Group (NZSEG) and the New Zealand Defence Force have forged a partnership enabling Electronic Engineers from the Royal New Zealand Navy to undertake the NZ Diploma in Engineering (Electronics Engineering) (Level 6) at NZSE’s Auckland City campus.
Electronic Engineers play a critical role in the Royal New Zealand Navy, maintaining complex shipboard systems and ensuring fleets are ready for major operations. At NZSE College, learners will have the unique opportunity to study alongside Navy members — bringing together an exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and discipline. Read more here.
Our academic partners
NZSE College partners with leading universities — AUT and Massey University — to give students the opportunity to cross-credit their studies and progress seamlessly toward their chosen pathway.
AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
NZSE College’s first university pathway was established over 15 years ago with AUT to expand access to higher education for aspiring IT professionals. Since that initial agreement, the partnership has evolved to encompass a wider range of NZSE’s technology, business, and tertiary pathway programmes — creating clear and trusted progression routes for NZSE graduates into AUT’s bachelor and master degrees.
MASSEY UNIVERSITY OF NEW ZEALAND
Celebrating more than 11 years of academic collaboration, NZSE College and Massey University have long partnered to create pathways for students from NZSE’s programmes into Massey degrees. In 2025, the partnership reached an exciting new milestone with an agreement to deliver the Massey University Diploma in Business Studies at NZSE’s Auckland City campus — enabling students to benefit from the combined expertise of both institutions.
