Engineering is one of Aotearoa’s most in-demand industries, offering stable career pathways in areas like infrastructure, machinery, and manufacturing. This hands-on engineering pathway programme is your first step into the world of engineering and trades, and will open your doors to further engineering study. You’ll learn practical workshop skills, build basic math skills for engineering, and learn how to read and create technical drawings. Plus, you’ll develop the problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities that every future engineer needs to succeed.

Learners will study the following four courses for one academic semester (16 weeks).

CSEP3001 – Culture and Communication

This course provides learners the opportunity to develop and expand their knowledge and understanding of their own and other cultures and values, and how these might impact on communication between them and others in Aotearoa New Zealand, while working on a design project.

CSEP3002 – Manage Self and Studies

This course aims to equip learners with the tools to develop a personal goal-setting plan, and evaluate their unique qualities, skills and strengths that define their rangatiratanga.

CSEP3003 – Programming Project

This course aim is to equip the learners with the skills and knowledge of basic programming concepts and techniques. Learners will evaluate the qualities and strengths that define their rangatiratanga.

CSEP3005 – Engineering Maths and Drawing

This course aims to develop learners’ fundamental skills and knowledge of mathematical techniques and functions to identify and solve problems relevant to engineering. Learners will also gain basic drawing skills used in the field of engineering.
