This Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare (Level 8) equips learners with the advanced knowledge and practical expertise to address complex health challenges across Aotearoa New Zealand. Delivered online with flexible study options, this qualification allows learners to specialise in mental health, community health, or addiction, while developing critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and evidence-based practice skills. Graduates will be able to design and implement innovative strategies that improve health outcomes for individuals, whānau, and communities.
Learners will study 120 credit over two semesters, with a focus on the chosen specialisation in Semester 2.

**Students will be conducting research specific to their chosen pathway.
- Admission Criteria:
- The minimum entry qualification for this 120-credit Graduate Diploma is:
- A recognised bachelor degree in a related field.
- Completion of the Graduate Certificate in Healthcare (Level 7)
- Equivalent advanced evidence based practical experience in a patient-facing role in the health industry (min. three years in the last five years).
- English Language Entry Requirements:
- Learners must have an IELTS overall band score of 6.5 (no individual band less then 6.0), NZCEL level 5 or equivalent.
- In-study work rights of 25 hours a week and a one year, post-study work visa on successful completion of programme.
- Apply advanced concepts, frameworks, philosophies, and informatics to critically evaluate healthcare practices for individuals, whānau, and communities.
- Demonstrate ethical reasoning skills when evaluating health challenges.
- Develop innovative strategies and interventions to support the health of Māori and/or Pasifika communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.
- Honour the rights and needs of Māori as tangata whenua and understand the obligations of tangata tiriti to advocate for equitable health and wellbeing.
Annual gross income is estimated to be $65k to $125k p/a
(after one year in the health sector) depending on the role and level of responsibility.
