Perfect for 16– to 24-year-olds who want to gain real-world skills, this course will set you up for success in roles like Retail Sales Assistant, Retail Sales Consultant, or Customer Service Representative, in environments like fashion, technology, and more.
Define Rangatira hauora (holistic wellbeing) with a holistic framework and the connections to physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Apply strategies to enhance hauora, including approaches to physical, mental, emotional, and social health.
Use a personal SWOT analysis to identify internal and external factors that influence rangatiratanga. Utilise knowledge of SMART goals related to future education and development. Apply knowledge of preparing for employment in a chosen pathway.
Work collaboratively to plan a fundraising project to benefit a community. Implement a fundraising project that will support the community. Develop strategies to support own rangatiratanga and how self-determination could support future project outcomes.
Collaborate in a team to develop appropriate voice and movement activities for a waiata. Identify and select a cost-effective online distribution channel to upload your waitata and actions. Define personal contribution to teamwork and self-management/improvement strategies for future learning.

- Open to students who are 16 - 24 years of age, under Youth Guarantee.
- Applicants must have sufficient competence in the English language to undertake the Programme which is taught and assessed in English.
- Graduates of this programme will be competent in:
- Apply strategies to enhance holistic wellbeing, including physical, mental, emotional, and social health.
- Set personal goals and develop plans for education, career progression, and self-development, using tools such as SWOT analysis and SMART goals.
- Work collaboratively to plan and implement community projects, demonstrating initiative, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Participate effectively in creative and team-based activities, contributing ideas and taking responsibility for personal performance.
- Apply practical skills for employment readiness, including communication, self-management, and understanding workplace expectations for entry-level retail and customer service roles.
